Laryngitis. I think that’s what I have. Came on quickly Tuesday night. Wrote Wednesday’s Studio Log entry after a day of rest and was feeling pretty good at the time. Thursday was great.. but lost my voice Friday after two days of presenting/talking with people at work. Now I’m whispering full time. I’m grateful that my throat doesn’t feel too bad and I’m not stuffed up or coughing much.
I had fun volunteering for my son’s spring concert at middle school this past Tuesday.. even though I was on a swift decline. I helped a small team of parents with staging microphones for the jazz bands, the concert bands, and running the mixing board. Everything went off without too many hiccups, and we took good notes on what needs to change for the next (and final) concert of the year. This will also be documented and put into a playbook for people to learn from since all but one of us have graduating kids. I’ll be back to that school a bit later on when my youngest attends, so that will be something I can help do again with a different cast of parents helping out.
Ok.. so music musings: I had ordered Crackazat’s “Shine EP” and it arrived a whole week-and-a-half early before official release!! It came across the pond, so I appreciate them trying to ensure that it didn’t get here after the release date. I love the EP and I cannot wait for his full length to come out in May!
I’m thinking of doing the vinyl record spins on the Listening Lounge differently. Something more rich with pictures and content that I cook up with using Claude Code. Early stages of the ideas loosely bouncing around my laryngitis-ridden self ;)
I need to hop on taxes, and a ton of other home projects. For anyone that’s OG to my YouTube channel, the old house always needs work and updating. Right now it’s a bit of kitchen improvement to match the amazing tile floor job we did ourselves.
