On Monday I was able to sit down and try fixing some long-standing issues with my LaunchPad Pros (both MK1). Fantastic hardware, but limited functionality for my needs. I’ve enjoyed the custom scripts for Launchpad’s over the years, most notably “Launchpad 95” and “LaunchPad Pro95” scripts. I’ll write a proper post/record a video on this soon, but there are specific must-have features for me. Unfortuantely some have been broken for awhile, but I fixed them (with the help of Claude Code’s Opus model). So stoked! Testing, working out a few other bugs and changes, then will link to the updated version when done.

I’ve been testing Iftah’s Variations, part of the Live Performance Pack, with limited success. There’s an issue with the quantization being 1 frame/tick behind reality, so I have to commit to a more instant performance at 1/8 quantization rather than global. What’s more, is the ‘exclude’ list is too much to manage when one has a large set and just wants to focus on specific parameters. I pointed Claude Code at it and was able to get a version that now uses an “include” list for parameters and devices! More testing is needed, but this is very exciting and will help with my performances. Links and more to come in a different post or video.
