You’d figure I would blog more now that it is all hosted along side my sliptide.com website, right? Oh well.
I’ve been pretty damn busy over the past 2 weeks, which is awesome because I’ve been super psyched for my long vacation to the east coast coming up at the end of May.
I think I’m just going to start blabbing about what’s been up rather than trying to get all of this in some sort of detailed order.
Most recently Amy and I hosted a BBQ at our place. Tons of grilled veggies (gotta have my grilled mushrooms!) and hotdogs this time around (hey, it was easy, and people seemed to love the hotdogs), strawberries, chips + salsa… add all of that to a bunch of solid ppl that came over to hang… add a feature presentation of a bad (yet freaking hilarious) movie, “Evil Alien Conquerors” = a pretty damn good time.
We had a lot of fun and it seemed everyone else did to. We weren’t set up for an all nighter as in the past, so people bounced out shortly after midnight. I think I would’ve ended up dead tired all weekend if I hadn’t crashed like a 5 y/o coming off of a sugar high around 1 AM. I’ve been making sure I’m in great health for a special trip to Seaside, Oregon this coming weekend!’
Speaking of– The trip this weekend is going to be freaking amazing. The weather might not be the absolute best we could hope for, but regardless of the fact it is not going to be freezing cold down there and probably not wet at all. That’s a-ok for some great day hikes, a ton of bike riding in Seaside and Cannon Beach, some great food, and a whole lot of relaxation. I’m excited to be along the coast. Our room has a water view *and* we got a 3 for 2 night special! Yay cheap(er) vacations!
With the amount of time spent going and doing things outside of the house I’ve been gaining more momentum to work on music while at home. The production has been hit or miss for awhile, but lately I’ve been able to grind out some great starts to various tracks in multiple genres. It’s time to hook up the mic and leave it as such so I can start whipping up the vocal tracks, too.
I’m pretty stoked about (nerd alert!) this awesome Calphalon 5qt Dutch Oven we have at home now. Amy made some killer soup in it last night with tons of fresh veggies, some spicy chicken sausage, and white beans.
Alright.. enough randomness for now. There is day job work to do.
